Dare to take the route of the Bastioned Fortresses of the Raia and the famous smuggler, Acúrsio Baluarte Barrabás with you. You can download your Passport here or pick it up at the FAR Interpretation Centres or Tourist Offices.
Don't forget to ask for the stamp at each of the Fortresses.

At first glance, the Route of the Bastioned Fortresses of the Raia may seem like a journey with its eyes set on the past and distant territorial disputes, but you only have to look at the present to realise that this past is never completely written in stone and that there are always new events, discoveries and understandings to update.
By interpreting the stories that the walls and bastions of the Almeida, Marvão and Valença Fortresses tell us, we can reflect on the culture and heritage that unite different territories and give us the tools to build both a common memory and future.
